As the victim, the following should
be provided. If it is not, ask for it. -
Put in contact with the specialist in child sexual abuse and/or victim
advocate
- Offered immediate crisis intervention and if available,
follow-up counseling
- Informed of the victim's rights
- Assistance with protective orders and criminal complaints
- Assistance throughout the investigation and prosecution
of the offender
- Assistance in filing for victim compensation benefits
- Provided referral contact information to supportive
community services
- Assistance in safety planning
